It would appear that stores are very keen to attract shoppers to their stores in the run up to Christmas as many are running promotional discount weekends. Asos are operating a Savvy Sunday and Awear is eager to increase its Monday sales - it has 30 per cent off online sales today!

Due to the expected increase in VAT in this week's budget it is rumoured that the traditional Christmas sales, which have started a week before Christmas in recent years, could start even earlier this year.
